Glenn's first solo album was released on this date in 1982. I love this album! It's my second favorite after Strange Weather. What a strong start to his solo career!

What better excuse is there to put it on right now?

I listen to that Boston bootleg a lot and that has 8 out of 10 NFA songs so it's going to be strange to go back to the studio recordings.

ETA: I tried playing both live and studio recordings simultaneously and I can confirm that Glenn stuck with the "playing it like the record" formula. Apart from small variations in timing and a few extended solos, they were nearly identical.

Happy 34th Birthday to No Fun Aloud.

The One You Love is my favorite.

There's just something about "That Girl" that makes me melt. So romantic.

I love "That Girl" - the only hesitation is it's dedicted to Janie and has the line "I'm going to love you to my dying day" and that makes me sad even though he found happiness later with Cindy.

"I Volunteer" is a near-perfect almost-love song, especially as sung by Glenn. (Then I pictured it sung by a co-worker who declared his love for me and I shudder)

I recently found the Boston bootleg, I haven't listened to it yet. I'm not familiar with Cool Jerk. I haven't listened to it yet.

It took me awhile to get Glenn's No Fun Aloud album. I wasn't happy with him deserting the Eagles in the early eighties. I've enjoyed listening to it over the years. The One You Love is an essential Frey solo track in any company.

I love Cook Jerk. He introduces his band as "The Cool Jerks" and says they named themselves. Certainly a cool band and they have good rapport with Glenn.

HAPPY 34TH ANNIVERSARY TO NO FUN ALOUD!!!

I absolutely love this album and it is also my second favorite of all of Glenn's solo albums. There is something for everyone on it. My favorite track is All Those Lies, which I consider to be grossly underrated. And unlike most, The One You Love is my least favorite ballad. Although I do like the song a whole lot, I prefer I Volunteer because of the emotion Glenn pours into the song.

Happy anniversary to No Fun Aloud!

Like most of ya'll, NFA is my 2nd favorite Glenn solo album after Strange Weather. My favorite song is probably Partytown. All Those Lies , The One You Love, and I Volunteer are some other favorites.

I'm glad that this album is now available on Spotify. I don't have to use the record player every time I want to listen to it!
