Sodascouts: Thanks for keeping tabs on Randy for all of us. He's in my thoughts today.

And also thanks for turning us on to the article. I had not heard of the band "World Classic Rockers." They sound like a fun band to see! I'm going to keep track of them and see them sometime if I can!

Lou posted a beautiful pic of Randy and Don in Eagles Hotness and it got me thinking about Randy. Has anyone heard an update on how he is doing? Would love to know if he's on the mend or what!

Yeah, me too. Would like to know what the illness was.

I would like to know how he doing now. It's strange that we havn't been able to find out what is wrong. Maybe he has recovered and that is why we havn't heard anymore. His son has a FaceBook account, did he ever post anyithing on it about his Dad being ill.

I haven't heard anything more about Randy's illness either, but, hopefully, "no news is good news". I've heard rumors in the past that Randy has a history of heart problems, but I have no idea what the source of this is or if there is any truth to it. Whatever the case, of course, I wish him the best.

I haven't heard anything more either but, like dreamer, I think "No news is good news." He has indeed had heart problems but hopefully everything is OK now.

The link in the original post is no longer good, but the article is still online. It's an interview with Nick St. Nicholas, organizer of the World Classic Rockers touring band. The relevant bit is: "Unfortunately, one of our key members, Randy Meisner of The Eagles, is laid up, so we’ll probably do a tribute to Randy; we’ll do “Hotel California” in Camarillo. Normally we only play that song if he’s there. He’s helped out a lot of people musically, so that’s the least we could do."

The last known date that Randy performed publicly that I'm aware of was in April 2008. So if Mr. St. Nicholas was saying that Randy was still ailing as of June 2009, that's troubling. Poor Randy.
