When I think of The Ventures I always think of this song

And I dream I'm on vacation 'Cause I like the way that sounds,
It's a perfect occupation for me.

Yeah, that one and "Pipeline" were the first "pop" songs I learned on guitar. Up until then, I had been playing nothing but Folk music.

I got this from Sweetwater (music/guitar mega dealer)

The lead guitarist of The Ventures, Bob Bogle, passed away Sunday at the age of 75. Bogle was an original member the Ventures; the band was founded in 1958 in Tacoma, Washington. The group became known for instrumental hits, including their most famous, "Walk, Don't Run," as well as "Perfidia" and the theme from Hawaii Five-O. The band sold millions of albums, and has been cited as a powerful influence on a wide range of bands and guitarists. The Ventures were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.

I did not know about that! I assumed that of all groups, the Ventures would have already been in RRHOF.
