Following on from my homemade compilation of the 'Best of Schmit' I thought I'd put together what I consider the 'Ultimate Meisner' collection, and whilst I personally find some of Randy's solo work a touch uninspired at times this 21-track set is so goddamn good to listen to on the ol' iPod ! Definitely one for the folk out there who want to hear what Randy COULD offer (without the weak spots) ...

Gosh Malc - I wish I was more familiar with Randy's solo work so I could comment on your list. I do know a few of the songs, and I remember when Hearts On Fire was a hit in the 80's. I like that song a lot. That other one called Take It To the Limit ain't too bad either. My other very favorite Eagles song by Randy is Try and Love Again.

I'm going to have to refresh my memory on some of Randy's stuff. I always loved most of his songs with the Eagles, but I only have 1 vinyl album when he went solo, which I can't play because I have no record player.

My favorite of his is Take It To The Limit. Just beautiful.

From the Eagles catalog - "Certain Kind Of Fool", "Most Of Us Are Sad", "Take The Devil", "Tryin'", "Midnight Flyer", "Is It True" and "Too Many Hands" all feature Randy as lead vocalist, tho' he also offers distinctive parts to "Saturday Night" and "On The Border" amongst others ...
However, as my original post suggests, he does also have a reasonable 'solo' catalog out there aswell ... if you can find it (which it took me a while to do !)
