I wish I could say that I'll be seeing ZZ Top in concert soon but that is not the case. What I can say is that I got to see ZZ Top 2 nights ago while I was at work. They stopped by the casino I work at. I still can't believe that they were actually there. Before I even knew that it was really them, I had seen Billy Gibbons. After one of our breaks, me and my coworkers were walking back out to the tables and, at the same time, we all saw a long bearded man standing by the cashiers window. One of my friends said "Hey that looks like one of the ZZ Top guys!!" I looked at the guy and said "Yeah, it looks like him but it's probably not him. Why would they be here?" We all just kind of shrugged our shoulders and got back to work. I found out later that it actually was Billy Gibbons. They were just passing through and decided to stop for the night. A hotel was recently built right next to the casino and instead of sleeping in their bus they decided to stay in the hotel.

My friend Christie saw Billy walk up to the bar that is right next to blackjack tables and went up there on her next break and got to meet him. She told him how much she loves them and their music and how they were her very first concert. Christie is a very outgoing person and is not shy whatsoever and at that moment she said she was incredibly star struck. She said Billy was totally cool. He didn't mind people coming up to him and saying hi or asking for autographs. He was there to hang out, gamble, and have some fun and that's what he did. Billy told Christie that he would leave her some autographed photos for her and I at the front desk in the hotel lobby. Pretty freaking cool of him to do that. Later on at work, Christie even got to deal to Frank Beard. That lucky girl!!!! The next day after work Christie went by the front desk in the hotel to pick up the pictures but the person working there couldn't find them. Apparently someone else had taken them. What a bummer!!!

It was pretty cool to get to see them in person. I'm so happy for Christie. Seeing the delight and joy on her face after work that night made me wish that one of the Eagles would "stop by" the casino some day. Don Henley just lives down the road in Dallas about 3 hours away. Maybe it could happen....Nah, it won't ever happen. I'll just have to keep on wishing.
