Yep - This Day in Eagles History comes in very handy in reminding me of this kind of stuff.
And the Sacramento show was definitely a special show for me as well. Even though it wasn't my first Eagles show, it was the first one that I met up with other fans. As they say - "the rest is history".
PM - We seriously did think it would be the last show we ever saw, which is exactly the reason we flew all the way to California to see them. The band had hit some bumps in the road with the recording of the Long Road Out of Eden, and at the time, it didn't appear as if the album was going to happen. Don and Glenn were both making comments in interviews that they were about ready to hang it up for good. Thank goodness they got back to work on the album, and things seem to have been going much more smoothly with the guys ever since.

In one of the interviews with Joe, he said there were a lot of problems making LROOE. It was very hard for them since they hadn't made an album together in so long. The process went almost nowhere for about a year. It became very labor intensive, & I think there may have been disagreements as to what songs to even put on the album & then it turned into a double album. I don't think that was the original plan for a double album.
It's reminiscing time for me too, as November 19, 20 & 21 were the dates of the 2004 Sydney shows.
This time 5 years ago the Eagles kicked off their LROOE tour in London's O2 Arena. I was there along with my daughter (whose 1st Eagles concert it was) and 2 other Borderers, glenneaglesfan and Mrs Frey! Think it was 20 March, but they also played on 22 March.
It was absolutely wonderful!
