No, doesn't surprise me. Don, lighten up while you still can!

Yeah, if the guy deserved it, I'm glad Don gave it to him.

As a matter of fact, that is the very FIRST thing I noticed.

And I also noticed how many covers there are in the set list. I'm glad that Don is mixing it up a bit, but most of these songs I've never even heard of. C'mon Don - you have a pretty decent catalog of your very own to choose songs from - what about singing some of them ... that's what I wanna hear at a live show! Oh well - I'm sure the show was great - but still!

And kudos to Don for handing it back to the jerk at that show!

I'm not surprised that he wore a suit after reading the setlist - September Song, I Put A Spell On You... It seemed to fit the mood of the songs better than jeans and plaid (however much I love the latter!)

"Pleasant and Predictable"? Is that reviewer kidding? The show sounds like anything but. How about moody, atmospheric, heartfelt, rocking...I could go on....

At least this sentence was phrased well:
"Bolstered by an eight-piece band that slickly transitioned from easygoing supper-club jazz to melodic rock, Henley did most of his roaming near the start of the show, beginning with "I Put a Spell on You," in which his voice sandpapered the lyrics."
Personally, I adore the way Don's voice "sandpapers" lyrics.

And unlike Dreamer, I love the fact that he added some new songs to his set list. I love his hits but fortunately we can listen to them at any time. As the reviewer bluntly put it, a "checklist of career highlights" is good, but the addition of new songs, interpreted as only Don can, sounds great to me. In fact, I would love a show made up almost entirely of covers. To hear the unique way that he would interpret standards would be heaven to me.

I envy everyone who got to hear him sing "My Thanksgiving" live; I adore that song. And I also wonder what he said to the heckler.

My thoughts are with all of you who are lucky enough to see him this time. I am with you in spirit!

I agree about the setlist sounding intriguing...songs to be interpreted in the way only Don can. Cool!

Soda, I love your new sig!
