There's a discussion in the Documentary thread about the credits on HFO and it made me wonder about something else (and right now I can't even remember what it was because I got sooooo sidetracked). Anyways, I read this on Wiki and found it rather interesting. Not that I understand it, but it sounds cool anyways. LOL

"Seven Bridges Road" (Steve Young) - DTS - A remastered version of the recording featured on Eagles Live, with a clearer separation of the four vocal parts to exploit the full potential of a 5.1 speaker set-up: Timothy B. Schmit is on the front-left, Glenn Frey on the front-right, Don Henley on the rear-left and Joe Walsh on the rear-right. Frey, as the singer of the song's main melody, is also featured on the front-center channel.
Now I just need someone to actually explain it to me. I think I have a general idea tho.

TBF, I'm no expert, but from what it says there...On 7 Bridges Road, on the Eagles Live version, they have recorded it so you can hear the vocal separation on a 5.1 system.

It doesn't apply to Hell Freezes Over version, so if you have the Eagles Live version, it would probably have a better sound quality with the correct system.

It says it's for the HFO dvd only and that's it's a remastered version of the one on Eagles Live. Anyways, that's how I'm reading it.

That's how I'm reading it as well, and that makes no sense to me. A remastered version of the HFO version would make sense. Maybe a typo? I mean, if it were a different version altogether, wouldn't you see that on the video? Their lips wouldn't match the words exactly, right?

You're correct Willie. An enhanced version of 7BR from 1980's Eagles Live album was a selling point for the HFO DVD in fact. I at first assumed it was an HFO version before reading the additional info, but I get it now. The fact that it is not from HFO is why there is no video of it - it is audio only. It is essentially a DVD-audio "bonus track."

Unfortunately, if you don't have the right sound system, you can't enjoy it. My brother-in-law played it for me on his 5 speaker sound system and it was magnificent. You could literally hear a different voice coming from each speaker. Very cool!

Ah, one more reason I need to buy the DVD. Still thinking it'll come out on Blu-Ray soon, so I'll wait.

I'd love to be able to pick out their harmonies. Sometimes I can, but not always. If you could have a different voice coming out of each speaker, and control each individual speaker, that would be great!

Well I have the DVD but not the right sound system to hear it. Darn.
