    Default Carlos Santana

There is a good chance that Verna and I will be attending one of the weekly shows that Santana puts on at his club in the Hard Rock, Las Vegas. I have no idea how long these shows are but the tickets for the two of us would be in the balcony. For the two of us, they would cost a total of $130. The primo seating is much higher.

I've only seen Carlos one time live and that was at the Crossroads Guitar Festival in Dallas back in 2004 or 2005....somewhere along in there. He's amazing to watch (and of course listen to!)

I wonder if he'll do "Smooth"? I love that song but it probably wouldn't be as good without Rob Thomas.

    You and Verna have fun!

Great! I'd love to hear Black Magic Woman, Oye Como Va, and Evil Ways live. And Smooth with Rob!

I bought Smooth from iTunes without having heard it because I had heard so much about it. It's a fantastic song.

He sings it high, he plays it low

I wore out "Abraxis" back in '68 or '69. Carlos is definitely one of the picks of the liter when it comes to virtuso guitar players!

Have you ever noticed how he tends to play solos by plucking the strings "backwards"? Most playrs will pluck the strings in a downward motion, but Carlos picks strings with an upward motion almost all the time. Interesting technique.
