Aww, darn. I was hoping it would be a picture of that fabled house on the hill that Henley and Frey shared. Now that would be something to see.

Still, I'm putting the Beverly Hills Hotel on my list of stops for my next California trip. We're planning to go once the kids are in college. I've already warned my husband that we'll be taking the Eagles unofficial tour of LA.

In relation to this; grossly unfair to Pretty Maids All In A Row. Was Joe only supposed to ever do songs like Life's Been Good?

Frail Grasp is 'proof that Henley had completely taken over the band'. Wrong. It mentions Glenn's two leads on their last two 70s albums. This was by choice, not because Henley 'took over' the band. I agree that the song is very typical of some of Henley's solo work. I like it a lot; I know a lot of people here don't; I prefer Henley's Eagles 'moralising' to some of his solo 'moralising'.

As for the 'whorehouse' sax of YBTTC if that's the best the guy can come up with, he is not to be taken seriously.

We've been talking about visiting the Grand Canyon and my son asked if there was anywhere else we were going to go along the way. He knew about Winslow, Arizona and was just waiting for me to say we would be going through there also. Of course I had been planning that all along!

First of all, with regard to that article about the Eagles doing the Super Bowl - I have one word ... LAME! The writer of that article is obviously clueless.

    I couldn't agree more!

And lastly, as far as the house that Don and Glenn shared in Laurel Canyon, Soda, PLS, and I tried to find it when we had our Eagles Day in L.A. back when we went to see Glenn at The Roxy. We couldn't find it because we didn't have the address and there are LOTS of houses on Mulholland Drive. We did locate the townhouse where Glenn's 'Sexy Girl' video was filmed and another house that Glenn once owned in Coldwater Canyon. Then when Soda, Wildthyme, and I went to see Glenn at the House of Blues, we saw them again. We were going to try to search for the Mulholland Drive house again, as well as, the duplex that Glenn shared with JD and Jackson Browne in Echo Park, but we ran out of time.

Anyway, if any of you are interested in reading about our little Eagles mini tour, you can find it in The Roxy 2008 thread here ...

There are a lot more houses along Mulholland these days than were there back then. Does anybody know who actually OWNED it?
