An organization for Business Insurance has a blog, apparently, and sometime in the last four days, they put out a blog on 10 Rock Stars Who Are Brilliant Business People. Our boys are named first, although it's not completely complimentary.

Maybe not the most flattering but I don't see anything untrue...except the last comment about the economy impacting their gate. I can't recall a single show I've been to that wasn't a sell-out. And I'm impressed that they get first mention.

I don't really agree with that article. Where is KISS on this list? They are the biggest money makers & brand marketers of all. I also think that much of the money is made by smart managers, and that they are not really all that "brilliant" and I am sure that most of these "stars" have good management behind them. I don't necessarily think that all these "business deals" are done by these stars, but by their management teams. The trick is to get the right people behind you.

Lol! Glenn and Don were pretty funny!

You know, when I first glimpsed the pictures before finding the clip I thought, oh no, Joe cut his hair! Then I realized it was an old pic from HFO! Thank God!

You would have thought they would have used at least pics from Farewell I rather than going back that far!

I wonder how many on the list have Irving Azoff as a manager?

On that list as far as I know Irving only manages the Eagles.

I thought the inclusion of Arcade Fire was dubious to say the least. I've never even heard one of their songs.

As for Kiss I query whether they are 'the biggest money makers' in 2012.

However, I have asked a Facebook friend to take notes of the setlist. She said she will try, but can't promise anything, because she has trouble remembering the titles, hahaha. Anyway, I did try!

I heard a wonderful interview with Joe a couple of days ago from one of our local radio stations, Kfm. I missed it, but was able to listen to it on Facebook. The concert promoter, Big Concerts, posted the interview. He sounded so excited about coming here, and said that all the guys felt that way.

Glenn and Don were also interviewed for a local magazine programme, "Top Billing", which was broadcast last Tuesday, and repeated last Sunday (when I was able to catch it). Both guys were in great spirits, relaxed, laughing and joking and clearly excited to be visiting South Africa. They plan to do some of the usual things while they're here, such as viewing wildlife. That came from Don.

It was also exciting for me to see the posters of them on street poles when I went cycling over the weekend. I couldn't help breaking into a broad smile as I passed the posters.

I'm wearing my LROOE tour T-shirt today to pay tribute to the boys, even though I can't be at the concert. Of course, I'm gearing up for my own show tonight, supporting my friend James in his "Elvis" production at the Roxy Revue Bar, GrandWest Casino, Goodwood, Cape Town. Tonight is our opening night, and we'll be performing four nights a week for ten weeks. I'll hold the Eagles in my heart throughout my performance tonight.

I had this fantasy that I would bump into one or more of the boys (particularly Glenn ) on the casino grounds on one of the nights we were rehearsing at the Roxy (four times last week, Monday and last night this week), but sadly that didn't happen. Problem is, we were rehearsing, and didn't really make ourselves visible. Perhaps they did visit the casino grounds, who knows...
I didn't hear anything about what they planned to do. The clip posted was very short.

In relation to what Glenn said about the setlist.... it will probably be the exact same setlist that they have been doing for the past year. I had hoped with Glenn's new found enthusiasm for his singing he might increase his quota, but I don't think that will happen.

However, they did seem in a good mood & comfortable with each other.

It doesn't say this is for 2012. I doubt that the Grateful Dead or Bob Dylan are the biggest money makers in 2012. Kiss still make tons of money, I'm sure way more than Arcade Fire, who I have never even heard of.

As for Irving, I do know that he manages several huge people. I think he managers Taylor Swift, and you can see where she's also making tons of money. He is also managing the winner of XFactor Melanie Amaero, who won $5 Million dollars cash & the recording contract.

As far as I see there are plenty of people worth more than Jack Black. What about JLO? She's another one who has tons of endorsement deals & is worth millions. This list is another reason you can't believe everything you read.

I would believe the Forbes list over this article.

At the risk of being pedantic the article was not about who has made the most money but who has made the shrewdest business decisions.

I said that ON THAT LIST, as far as I am aware, Irving only manages the Eagles. I know he manages other artists too.
