I know - seems crazy! Maybe they felt they owed it to him since they skewered him and he apparently was being a good sport about it.

But of course he would be a good sport about it. O'Reilly loves being publicly criticized by high-profile people - such criticism shows that he is considered significant enough to be given attention, which is validating. After all, if his ratings were in the crapper and no one cared about what he said, he would never have gotten onto that montage!

Has anyone read Life by Keith Richards? I'm in the process right now and he mentions Joe briefly on page 160 which I thought was very cool.

Pretty cool that Keith remembers much of anything... Can you tell what's about Joe? And, how do you like the book? I'm thinking of getting it someday.

It's a great book Deb. I couldn't believe it when I went to pick it up at Barnes & Noble, it's so thick and my first thought was similar to yours, "I can't believe Keith can remember this much stuff!".

Here's the part about Joe-I'm sure Keith doesn't care if I quote him.

I've talked to guys since like Joe Walsh of the Eagles and many other white musicians about what they listened to when they were growing up and it was all very provincial and narrow and depended on the local, usually white, FM radio station. Bobby Keys reckons he can tell where someone came from by their musical tastes. Joe Walsh heard us play when he was at high school, and he's told me that it had a huge effect on him simply because nobody he knew had ever heard anything like that because there wasn't anything. He was listening to doo-wop and that was about it. He had never heard Muddy Waters. Amazingly, he was first exposed to the blues, he said, by hearing us. He also decided there and than that the minstrel's life was for him, and now you can't go into any diner without hearing him weaving that guitar of his on "Hotel California."

I saw Keith on CBS Sunday Morning and he was talking about his book and it sounded like it would be pretty good. I was surprised, too, that he could remember anything! I may have to get it.
