I know I replied on FB, but wonderful about your mom, ticky!
Working in a customer service job, I am always amused by what 'small talk' my customer will bring up. For some reason, people have come to use the phrase "Are you ready for Christmas?" during the holiday season, and for some reason, this question irkes the out of me. Probably because I am not much for small talk and don't know how to answer without sharing too much! However, I have decided this year to make the best of something I don't like. Starting today, Dec. 1, every time somebody says that phrase to me I'm going to mark it down, and after Christmas I'm going to donate $1 for every time it was said to a charity of my choice.
Does anybody have any suggestions for something I can answer back that is short and witty?

And I dream I'm on vacation 'Cause I like the way that sounds,
It's a perfect occupation for me.
PM, what a good idea!

Love the idea!!!! Good for you!!
As far as a comeback.... Since it irks you (me too), I say just slap them! Or would that not work?

Tell them what you're doing! Rattle a box under their nose and suggest they do the same PM!

Tell them you had all your presents bought and wrapped by July 4th. No one likes someone that organized, but they'll be envious all the same.
Since I don't know how much $$ you want to donate, I won't ask if you're ready for Christmas!!

You can't change the world but you can change yourself.
Great idea, PM! You could tell them you're ready to run a mile away from Christmas...
... or that you've been playing Snoopy's Christmas non-stop - that should shut them up!

You could answer, "Almost!"
or, "Just about!"

Well, the day has finally arrived. My baby girl is moving out this afternoon. I thought I was more ready for this but not so much now that it's here. I keep trying to tell myself that it's better than it was a year ago when we thought she'd be overseas for the year. So I'm thankful for that. The fact that she is moving out only 3 months after her brother moved out is making it a bit harder I think. Plus I'm starting to get a bit of a complex, that maybe they don't need their Mommy any more!
Oh--and I should add.... when we were loading a couple of the vehicles last night, I counted 13 big boxes that read Katie's closet, 6 big boxes that said "shoes" and 3 big boxes that read "purses". That's my girl!!!!
