I'm also quite envious of Lisa's photography adventures! She's been telling me about the course each day, and it sounds fantastic. Really varied and interesting. I've seen a few pictures already and they are wonderful.

On the subject of art, I have had the day to myself today, and I decided to get my sketchpad out. I have always loved art, but since I left school, I've sort of neglected it - or haven't found the time for it. This is a drawing I did back in 2005 of my cousin, Morgan, when he was a baby. (He will be five in October!)

Note: I had to take shots of the actual sketches with my phone and upload them to the computer, so they're not high-quality.



Today, I decided to draw a portrait of Jesse James. I'm reading the biography on him by TJ Stiles, which is fantastic so I'm on a bit of a Civil War kick. I had this portrait in my history folder (yes, I'm sad, I have a history folder!) and thought I'd attempt it. Bearing in mind I haven't drawn for a LONG time, I was quite pleased with it.



I'm definitely going to try to draw regularly. When I do it, I really love it. Lisa's already mentioned to me about trying to sketch the Eagles! lol. Of course I'll post my efforts here (providing they're flattering - I don't want any stones thrown! )

Lou those are AMAZING!!!! I'm so impressed. I can't draw a good stick figure and you can do this!! Have you ever tried to do the Eagles? I'd pay $$ for a certain bass player! Seriously, those are beautiful!!!!

Maybe we should start a thread where we can see each others' talents or share if we have any at all. Lou's sketches could go there and Lisa's photos and who knows what else!

I will make the Eagles my next project. I think the 'talents' thread is a great idea. We definitely have some creative people on here.
