Default Party of 2 at Aspen

Joe and Glenn are headliners for one night at the Jazz Aspen Snowmass festival over Labor Day, with a "surprise" opener. Wonder who that'll be. Skynyrd is the next night, with Wilco and others another night.
Sure would like to see this, beautiful location, great groups.

Oh my gosh, how cool! I've always wanted to see the POT. Finally, a show that's open to the public. Thanks for posting this!

Ok! My geography of the US is reasonable but not perfect. Where would the closest international airport to Aspen be? I would love to do this but I'm back to work. I would have to fly out Friday and return Sunday. I dunno if this will be possible (if only it had been even a WEEK earlier). Then if there was any delays (like...... ash) that would be the end of it.

    Grrrrrr decisions......decisions.......decisions......

I'm pretty sure that Denver, Co would be your destination airport GAL. You'd have to drive to Aspen, but the drive is a trip all itself though most of it would be on I-70 (Interstate).

Verna and I went there 8 or 9 years ago but we were taking nothing but backroads. I couldn't begin to tell you where we came from or went to on that trip. There is nothing anywhere that compares to the Rockies and you would be in the heart of them.

Wow! Cool news! I would so love to see that, but already have Cardinals tickets and a visit to the son's planned for that weekend.

Soda and I were talking about this last night since it is both of our dreams to see a Party of Two show. We were wondering if this is a one time thing or if some other dates will be announced.

And you know what I was thinking - maybe the surprise opening act is <insert drum roll> ......
Timothy B. Schmit. Now, how awesome would that be!

I think Aspen has a small airport . You may be able to connect to it from Denver Airport GAL. I only know this because we used to have a friend who flew his own plane and he had a holiday home in Aspen and would fly in. It might be worth checking out GAL if you are really considering doing this. It would save you a load of time. It's been years since I've been to Aspen but loved it when I was there.
