Default Don and Jerry Lee Lewis

I happened to catch the PBS special the other night of Jerry Lee performing with quite a few other artists. Don was one of them and also gave a couple thoughts on Jerry Lee.

I didn't really care for the song that they did together. It really didn't showcase Don very well, imo, but any Don is good.

Anyone else seen it? I did tape the parts that Don was in.

Well Brooke, I'm sure they had to down play Don or he would have shown up all the other artists.

    Nicely put, PLS!
Brooke, I agree with you about Don's song with Jerry Lee--when I listened to it, I thought, UGH.
I am looking forward to the PBS special just to see him and hear what he has to say, however, and it doesn't run here until next week.

You make a very good point, PLS.

Does anyone know the name of this special? I would like to see if I missed it already.

It's called Great Performances, Jerry Lee Lewis - Live- Last Man Standing

Besides Don; Willie Nelson, Nora Jones, Tom Jones, Chris Issack, and John Fogerty, among others, perform. I mainly watched the parts with Don, Willie, and John.

And I might add that Don looks VERY good! <sigh>

Brooke, the Jerry Lee special finally came on PBS here last night. We went to a St Patrick's Day party so I set the VCR set to tape it. When we got home, I found out it only taped the last 30 minutes of it, so I am wondering what I missed.
The song that Don sings with Jerry Lee on the CD (that has been posted online, and that I listened to before) is the "Irish Heart" song, but the part of the show that I taped showed Don talking about Jerry Lee, and then they sang a different song, called "You Win Again." Did Don sing two songs on the special?

Thanks, SH. I was expecting it to be the Irish Heart song. I wonder why they put that one on the CD and You Win Again on the special?

Anyway, I'm happier now because I know I taped the part of the special I really wanted!
Don looked great but he really didn't sound like himself, did you think? My daughter Rachel, who knows I am a HUGE Henley fan, came in when I was watching it and said, "Wow, Mom, that doesn't even sound like Don. I like the rock songs much better."

You're welcome. Not too sure. Don looked wonderful. I think he sounded pretty good. That's cool about your daughter.
