You guys aren't going to believe this but it's actually looking as if I might not be going to see The Cars next month for several reasons. First, the concert is on a Wednesday night and hubby is having trouble getting time off, no one else wants to go AND it looks like that is the week my son will be moving back home from college for the summer and we will need to do that. I'm just not one to take off on my own to do it either, add to the fact that my hubby would have a cow worrying if I did. Now, if Benjamin was still with them, I would definitely be doing it alone, even if I had to walk all the way there. It was gonna be a bittersweet experience anyways seeing them without my beloved Benjamin but I was really wanting to do so. It may still happen, but right now, isn't looking to promising. Will have to settle for the new album that comes out the week before the concert and hope they add some more dates in the area-preferably on a weekend or a whole lot closer.

Real life sure gets in the way of the fun stuff a lot!!

I know what you mean though. It's really hard for me to go to concerts during the week. As far as I usually have to travel it means taking at least a day and a half off work. Plus the expense of staying over and food.

Why can't all concerts be on Saturday night?

I've got a ticket to the Crosby/Nash concert down in Oklahoma this coming weekend. It'll be interesting to see what kind of crowd they draw to the Casino down there.

The BAD thing about this concert and the only Reservation (no pun intended) that I have about it is that it is at one of the Native American Casinos down in Oklahoma. Figure the concert may last 2 hours. I'll have to be there at least an hour early to wait in line to get it to the first-come-first-serve venue. The only seating reservations are the first 10 rows and those are available ONLY to Tribal members! The $91.00 VIP tickets are for non-tribal ticket buyers and you get into the 10th to 20th rows or something like that.

So, for the general admission...you KNOW you are not going to get good seats for your $41.00 but you are not going to get good seats for your $91.00 either!

I can deal with that though. A good pair of binoculars will bring the duo into my lap!

I honestly was struggling with my own emotions when it came to getting that ticket. I "like" Crosby and I "like" Nash...but I'm not obsessed with them. It's only because it is on a Saturday night and only 60 miles away that I talked myself into going. It is hard for me to imagine them without Stills or Young....especially Stills.

I got on a rant here below on the conditions in Oklahoma Casinos so skip it. I should have erased it I guess, but every once in a while, I have to blow off steam.

No, what I don't like about it is that because it is at a Casino, my wife is going to want to go. She cares ZIP-ZERO-NADA about Crosby and Nash yet she'll want to go to the Casino. And she will NOT be ready to leave when the Cert is over! So I'll be stuck watching idiots pay $.50 a hand to bet $5.00 on each hand of blackjack they play! That's not gambling. That's making contributions to the Tribal Treasury! I absolutely REFUSE to gamble in Oklahoma!

Look, I know Jess deals Blackjack at a Native American Casino in Oklahoma and I'm tickled pink that she has a good job there! I don't even blame the Native Americans for the conditions of the Casinos in Oklahoma. Mostly it is the GREED of the State Government. It is very fortunate for them that most people do not have my attitude about that larceny at the Blackjack tables. Their tables are usually full so my informal boycott is producing no results that diminish their coffers <LOL>.

That Table Ante at Blackjack rates right up there with the Casinos in Las Vegas changing the payout on Blackjacks from 3:2 to 6:5. Some of them even ADVERTISED it as a GOOD THING <LOL> And people BOUGHT IT! Heck yeah! 6:5 is more that 3:2 right? I mean who wouldn't rather get a $6.50 return on a $5 bet rather than getting a $7.50 return on that same $5 bet! How many do think realize that that reduces the expected return on Blackjack for the player by 2.5%? For that matter, how many do you think might realize the significance of that little piece of elementary mathematics? Blackjack played using basic strategy, will see the player losing ONLY .4% over the long haul. 2.5% is HUGE!

But on a $5 bet with a $.50 ante....what do you think the loss is on that...and it is NOT an EXPECTED LOSS. It is a SURE THING! That is an additional 10% guaranteed LOSS! Even if you push or tie the hand you STILL LOSE that $.50. And still people play it.

It has been a Year years since I was at a casino in Oklahoma and that was because we stopped at a hotel on the way down to my Brother's Funeral and the casino was the only place around to get anything to eat.

Purchased Eddie Money tickets over the weekend for May 12th. Hubby had bought me and a friend tickets back in the mid 80s because he had to work. So this is my 2nd time seeing him and his 1st.

Still trying to work something out for The Cars yet. Still isn't looking to promising for that week but I wont give up hope just yet!
