I hope nobody will be too offended by this, but here it is. I hadn't seen it:

MY aunt and uncle had a life size poster of Queen Elizabeth sitting on the "Thrown" on the bathroom door. It was very regal!

Yup FP-that's basically the same one, only a different background and border on it! I had thought about going upstairs while he was at school and taking a picture of it but then decided not to because his room is to disgusting and embarrassing to show a picture of! Can you imagine that in my bathroom? And I agree PM- pity the poor young lady that he hooks!
He sings it high, he plays it low

I was all set to say that this show was one of the greatest I'd ever experienced until I read the review in the newspaper which said that Garfunkel could no longer hit the high notes. Well, no, he can't, if I am honest. His high register was very reedy and breathy. He tried his best but sometimes the majesty of the harmonies wasn't there. It was left to Simon to provide the vocal highlights - the verse he sang in Bridge Over Troubled Water was easily the best part of the song.

Where I have a question mark for the 16th song, this was a solo effort by Garfunkel which he wrote himself. I think it was actually called There You Were but I will have to investigate this further.

A spooky thing happened on my way out to the show in the train. My iPod played For Emily.... and I thought 'well, this is one song they won't play'. They DID play it. Also, Kathy's Song was sung by Garfunkel whereas on the record Simon sings it.

It was so fabulous to see the two of them after so long (I saw them in 1983) that I wasn't that bothered that there weren't many vocal pyrotechnics. I do think though that it is accurate to say that the show's highlight was an awesome version of Simon's solo hit The Boy In The Bubble. Other highlights for me were The Boxer, The Only Living Boy in New York, El Condor Pasa and Slip Slidin' Away.

They seemed quite at ease with each other which was good to see. The legacy they have left is immense and I'm glad I got to see them for what was probably the last time.

Sounds fabulous. I agree, they are a great duo; unfortunately, I have not had the chance to see either one of them yet. Maybe I'll still be able to.

Thanks for the review, FP. It sounds like a wonderful show. You are lucky - I have never seen them live either.

    Thanks for the review!
The Setlist sounds good for me. I´m not a huge Simon & Garfunkel fan but from time to time I like to hear their songs!

It's been a while since someone posted here...

The first concert for me this year is David Garrett next week, the master of the violin. He also plays rock songs with the violin, simply great. I remember I have already mentioned him here somewhere.

Then Foreigner end of April in Hamburg and I can't wait to see Kelly Hansen live on stage. He's an outstanding vocalist and since I've heard him singing the Foreigner songs I don't want to hear them with Lou anymore.

No one wants to go with me so I will meet some people from the Foreigner forum to enjoy the concert.

End of May it's KISS time again I hope they will be playing a lot of songs from the new album Sonic Boom which I really like.
