I don't know if I can add a lot to Rhonda's review. The concert was a lot of fun and the music was great. I have always loved CCR's music so seeing it performed live was a treat.

Tal Morris was amazing on lead guitar. And I know exactly what it was about him that attracted Rhonda so much *G* He was rather Joe-esque in the the way he handled that guitar and there was even something about his looks that reminded me of someone's favorite Eagle *G*

I was very impressed with how much John Tristao sounded like John Fogarty. Not exactly but so close that the songs sounded pretty much like the originals. He was very entertaining as well. He had an almost, shall we say, pornographic way of handling his guitar. He wore it very low slung and bounced it around a lot... and then there was the whole big man, big feet, big hands, big..... axe routine. It was very funny and his antics kept things light and fun.

I would have to agree with Rhonda that the people around us just did not have high level of enthusiasm plus we were packed in there like sardines. There was even one drunken jerk at the end of the row heckling the band. It would have made it even more fun if we had been surrounded by people that wanted to stand and clap and sing along. I did to some extent, but it felt kind of intimidating in those close quarters when the person next to you obviously got dragged there by his wife and resented it. I didn't let it affect me too much and still had a good time but then I am not necessarily a bouncing screaming maniac even in the right cirumstances.. LOL

Glad that you two had a fun time. CCR is supposed to be coming to the casino that i work at sometime in the next few months. I would love to go but more than likely i'll be working. But hey, maybe they'll come play some blackjack at my table afterwards. (yeah right)

Thanks for the review ladies. Sounds like a great weekend. I guess it just shows that some bands, like CCR or Journey, can actually successfully replace their frontmen.

I don't know, I don't want to be negative, and I know they are great musicians. I know they are doing very well, but for me, I really don't want to see CCR without John Fogerty or Journey without Steve Perry. But that's just me.

I have seen John without CCR and he is fabulous. But to me, he WAS CCR.

Last year I saw the Eagles my one and only time so far = (THE Best show of my entire life!), the Moody Blues one time, Sister Hazel one time, Daughtry 15 times - (ummm yeah, I really do love these guys A LOT, too!), Bon Jovi 4 times - (They really do put on an awesome show!), Nickleback 2 times - (They also put on a very good show!), Puddle of Mud 3 times - (They're also pretty good live!), Staind two times and their lead singer Aaron Lewis solo one time - (I absolutely love Aaron Lewis' voice!), YES one time, Little River Band one time, Gin Blossoms one time, and Shinedown 2 times -(They really freakin' ROCK!), and several unknown rock bands that I've come to love through Daughtry - Cinder Road, Day of Fire, Dirty University, and the Will Thomas Band.

I'd really love to go see Elton John and Billy Joel when they come here this March, too! But since my hubby spent so much already for me to see the Eagles again tomorrow night, prolly not gonna be able to swing ANY more shows for quite a while!

Ditto, Brooke. I had the pleasure of seeing Mr Fogerty last year (and getting a big smile from him during Down On The Corner) and it was a wonderful experience. He has his solo career to draw on too, not just CCR.

Well I don't know, Sometimes change can be good. IMO The New Journey Singer sounds almost identical to Steve Perry.

    Wink Re: Concerts

I saw John Fogerty this summer at the music festival that I attended. He was great! His voice sounded just like his CCR recordings. Of course he couldn't hold a candle to the act that followed , another group from the 70's. I believe that their name was EAGLES!!!!

I saw a televised report on him, and that was the most outstanding thing...how identical he sounded to Steve Perry. I had the pleasure of seeing Journey back in the 80's in Buffalo, NY with a long-time friend....they were fabulous. I would consider seeing them now, if the the date/place/price was right.
