Verna and I "MAY" be taking a little weekend trip down to Van Buren, Arkansas around August 18.

THREE DOG NIGHT is playing there! I think the tickets are $31 for front row. I was really impressed with the short set they played for free out on Fremont St in Las Vegas a couple of years ago. They still wail! But dang it, it is a 4-5 hour drive and we would have to drive through Tulsa...a city with a torn up mixmaster out west of town!

On the bright side, one of the Oklahoma casinos is after Verna and has been sending free room (and cash) offers. The casino is in Roland, OK so it would only be around 10 miles to the concert.

I'm headed off to Nashville Monday morning to see Sir Paul McCartney
at Bridgestone Arena Monday night. I can't wait....I've been a huge
Beatles fan for many years. My wife and I last saw Macca back in
2002 and it was amazing. I'm sure tomorrow night will be too. I'll report
back in a few days....maybe post a few pics, too.

Can I admit how envious I am? I saw him in 2002 also (and again in 2005). What kind of seats do you have?

I actually talked hubby into going with me to see one of my favorite bands, Guster. Have any of you heard them? They have very catchy songs and great harmonies! It's a stand up concert, so I'll try to get there early to stand close by the stage-lol. Hubby and I will probably be the most ancient ones there!

Hubby and I are going to Hippiefest at our local civic center a week from Thursday. Apparently this consists of Mitch Ryder, Rare Earth and Badfinger. Should be fun!

On this next trip to Vegas, I've already mentioned that we were planning on seeing Carlos Santana. Well, at one of the outlying casinos that we've been to a couple of times, "Tommy James and the Shandells" are playing! Along with them are "The Rascals". It's tempting to go to that cert!

I also heard that Meatloaf was going to be playing somewhere around here. And on the radio last night, I heard that Gordon Lightfoot was going to be playing soon at a small concert venue here in Wichita.

Really still thinking about that trip to Van Buren in Arkkansas to see Three Dog Night in August too!

Mike, out of all those you mentioned, Gordon Lightfoot caught my eye. I'm going to have to check to see if he's playing anywhere around me! (This is another great thing about this board!)

Lightfoot has been a very prolific writer. I think I'd like to go to one of his certs. We'll see. Might be on a bad night.
