Yeah I don't think the problem is Glenn's voice for two reasons. One is the fact he has solo shows coming up and two is that he is sounding pretty good on recent videos I've heard. I mean he might have some trouble with some of the high notes occasionally, but that's no big deal. He can still easily sing Already Gone, Lyin' Eyes, Take It To The Limit, etc if he wanted to or chose to.

What I DO worry about however is if there is something else going on between band members and there are problems again, especially with recent events and some of the stuff happening (riders, media, etc). I try not to think about it though but that is the only possible reason other than health or voice that I can come up with for not singing as many lead songs anymore. I hope and pray it's not the case though. I don't think Glenn would WANT to not sing those songs anymore. So there has to be a reason. In my dream land, they will go on the 40th anniversary tour next year and play long shows again and play the hits and put some of the hits back into the setlist. But again, that is just me dreaming!

As I have said, if Glenn's heart is not in this any more perhaps he should consider quitting. I don't know either why he would do solo shows when he seems more & more reluctant to sing any songs. I have no idea why in a situation like this only his songs are dropped. Are Don & Joe insisting on their songs and he's just going along with it? Does he feel that his songs don't get a sufficiently good reaction? The more this continues the more it will spiral out of control if it isn't addressed. Surely this was a one off.

I also wonder why they are dropping so many of his songs... Being that it's my favorite song, I really hope they bring back TITTL in the future. I'm glad you enjoyed the festival CJ!

    Hi Guys,

Almost a great day, we were in the disabled area, shame this was half a mile from the stage and there was the sound of base coming from the other stages and also the sound delay of about 1 second on the rear speakers behind the sound and light area was quite bad,
The song list for me was great, I am an Eagles man to heart, but at a festival you have thousends of people who come to see other bands, so the set list I think was good for people who did not know all the eagles tunes, I wished they played lyin Eyes, great song, but with the majority of the songs being fast is what keeps the non Eagles there, Thought everone on the day was great, 10CC top draw, Brandon Flowers, top draw ( not my scene) but will listen to some of my niece Killer tracks but between the sound changes from Brandon and Bryan ferry, the sound changed, bryan did the best he could as did the Eagles, it was not there usual polished set, I still had agreat time, great 40th Birthday gift from my wife, we are going back tomorrow to see Prince, hope getting out of the car park is better than over the hour it took ? but oh well was worth a great day just 25 miles from our door, as to Glen droping songs, I would not look too deep into it, the set was bang on for a festival, the only gripe I have is with the organisers, the poor disabled people were treated like second class citezens, this was bang out of order, the area was approx no bigger than 6m by 15m, what a joke, I suffer from spinal problems but there were people in wheelchairs who struggled to get a view because the festival organiser seems to think everyone is able bodied, why they cannot do a glastonbury or Isle of white is beyond me, but no put them at the back where no one can see them and we could not see the bands, even a couple of people left Half way through the eagles set to try and get round the other side to drown out the other stages, great day for myself and the wife and music lovers, but shame for the guys in wheelchairs.
The Eagles have still got it, loved the Helicoptor entrance and quick exit.
    Gary

FORGOT TO THANK THE STAFF AROUND THE DISABLED AREA, THEY WERE GREAT BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY, MANY THANKS GUYS AND GALS.

Hi all, finally back home and still feeling knackered. Needing matchsticks for my eyes but will post here before crashing as I know you want to hear all about it.

What a brilliant day it was yesterday. Sunny with white fluffy clouds and just the odd one black plus warm to hot at times. Met Carole at the hotel and then we were off on the long road to the festival. Car to station, train to Paddock Wood station, shuttle bus to the Hop Farm and then a small cross country walk. Boy did we walk some to see the boys ............ and I'd do it all again lol. Carole, Hannah and I arrived about 1pm and headed straight for the main stage area. Lots of people already there and still lots more arrived after us. We started off about half way down the field. There wasn't a lot of space available in the place by early evening.

Agree with CJH that 10CC were amazing and really handled to power cut well. Brandon Flowers was totally brilliant too. (Lou, you would have been impressed with him. Oh and I have all bar the first song of his setlist noted for you plus some photos from the big screen. However I had my daughter's camera so my DH and DD2 could have the more expensive camera for their day out and sos they aren't fabulous pics apart from one. They are all from one of the screens though.) Bryan Ferry was very good too and then came the big moment.

By this time we had located Steph. Not an easy task as Carole will confirm lol. We'd also lost her and found her again ha! We are pretty sure that the guys arrived by the helicopter that came into the Farm during Bryan Ferry's set. Well if you can why not.

Showtime. The screens went off and the lights were low. Excited enough already, I think Steph added to our excitement with those words 'Here we go,' ............... and then the guys walked out. We were all surprised when we heard Hotel California but boy did it get a cheer from the crowd.

CJHill is right on the set list but what he didn't tell you was that the guys came on at 9.15 and went off at 10.45. Yep just 1 and half hours hence the dropping of 5 songs from the shortened setlist. Because of the time there wasn't much chatting going on from Glenn, or anyone really (until a bit later.) After PEF Glenn asked if everyone liked country rock at the Hop Farm. Huge cheer from the crowd.

At The Long Run, Don spoke and told us it was the last day of their tour and said 'And what a way to end it in the beautiful English countryside.' That got a big cheer too. He then asked how the hops were, (mobile beer sellers were walking round the crowd all day long.) After another cheer, he laughed and said, 'I can smell it from here' .

Austin, you would have been proud of us as we did a little guitar spotting. Love those sparkly ones of Joe's Boy did he play well. They all did. All the guys sounded amazing. Harmonies were spot on and NO bum notes. They didn't get to introduce the band - lack of time I guess? After LITFL they went off and the crowd errupted calling 'Eagles, Eagles' and cheering. It wasn't long before they came back on for the encore. Glenn came back out with a baseball cap on back to front and looked 'cute'. All too soon it was Desperado.

They waved goodbye and Glenn blew kisses to the crowd, even Don blew kisses to the crowd. Must have been a good day for him lol. Not sure about the other two. They all seemed in very good spirits and I felt the crowd were very appreciative of how awesome the Eagles are. Certainly around us there was a lot of singing and dancing. Hopefully the guys enjoyed themselves I know we all did in our group.

Now the bad news. I didn't get very good photos. Most of mine are at a distance because we weren't up close to the stage. Carole and Steph might have had more luck but I know even they gave up trying. I do have some and will sort them out asap. (Might take me a couple of days unless I can throw my DH off the PC. So having broken my Eagles virginity I am ready to see them again and this time a full seated 3 hour concert please.

Had no troubles getting out and back to the bus to the station then to the pick up point for my DH to get us in the car. Got back to the hotel about 1am I'm told (my eyes weren't focussing then lol.)

Clothes because I know you like to know. Hmm, let me remember, Don was in grey shirt but with a long sleeved black top under and black trousers. Joe had on his red leather jacket and ??? other things lol. Glenn had a shirt under the black sweatshirt/jumper and trousers. Tim had ... erm... clothes on. Something dark but can't remember if it was a shirt or jacket oh and he had trousers on. (Sorry Willie lol.) Well it was hard to see and remember everything and I am a novice ha ha.

Carole and Steph it was great meeting you, had fun sharing the experience with you, and maybe we can do it again when they come back, and I hope they do sometime soon.

Thanks for the awesome reviews cj, ok1, and Annabel! I'm so glad all of you had a great time. Our guys are great no matter what. It is a shame that Glenn only sang three songs, but I agree that it's hard to speculate why. It makes sense that if there was a time limit and/or curfew of about 90 minutes that they would want to rock out more. I can see why they might cut Lyin' Eyes and TITTL, but, if that's the case, why leave in LROOE and cut How Long??? I guess inquiring minds want to know, but, oh well, I guess we never will.

Aw, I'm glad you guys had a good time, despite the fact that it was a shorter show. (Festivals and casino shows are often this way, unfortunately!) Annabel, your review was great. I'm thrilled you are no longer an Eagles virgin, and I'm sure you are eager for your second time! Thanks for taking some notes on Brandon Flowers for me, too - you're a sweetheart.

As for the outfits, I refuse to believe that I heard the words "grey shirt" again...!

I am hesitant to get into another debate about Glenn's songs being dropped, but I do agree that it's difficult to speculate - festival sets ARE different. The show that Steph went to recently was not so extreme. I wouldn't worry too much, although I can understand that Glenn fans present might have been hoping for more. All I will say is that I think Glenn might find the accusation that his "heart is not in it anymore" slightly insulting. He is in his sixties, touring extensively, and he has just announced solo shows. I believe he still has a hunger to do this, and I also believe he would have the integrity and sense to know if the day comes when he absolutely cannot do it anymore. I also very much doubt the idea that Don and Joe are somehow "forcing" their songs on him. From everything we've heard, Glenn is the leader. He makes many of the decisions, particularly regarding set lists. He is in no way a pushover. He has himself stated that "Don is our chief vocalist and chief lyricist" - hey, maybe Glenn is just HAPPY to play guitar and jam for a portion of the concert, without worrying about having to sing lead! Who knows. But I do think some of the theories, once again, are a little over the top, and slightly unfair to Glenn and the other guys.
