Band On The Run is one of my ten favourite songs of all time, but I never thought of it as being 'summery'.

Another one is Neil Diamond's Desiree ('it was the third of June/on that summer's day); bear in mind that the seasons are reversed down here.

Apart from the first word, this isn't exactly about SUMMER per se. However it was released early Summer 1988 and for me anyway it seemed to be playing every time I turned on the radio. So to me its a Summer song!
