    In the casinos of downtown Las Vegas, the smoke is so thick you can barely breathe! There's no escaping it. Even if you don't have a lot of smokers around you, decades of poorly-ventilated smoke has sunk deeply into every surface. Those places will reek of smoke until they're bulldozed.

    However, the strip is better. A few casinos including the MGM Grand have non-smoking gambling areas. To the best of my knowledge there is no entirely non-smoking casino. However, even the ones that don't have non-smoking gambling areas still restrict smoking to the floor, a few bars, and of course the smoking hotel rooms. The casinos on the strip also are much better ventilated.

    When Mom was still living in Albuquerque we used to go down to visit and there are tons of casinos throughout New Mexico. While there were no restictions in the casinos, the CITY bans smoking in public places -- and by that I mean city parks and on the sidewalks outside of businesses. Not sure how that's working for them because it seems it would be impossible to enforce. (Kind of like their 'no talking on you cell phone while driving law. Ironically you see the cops doing it all the time!)

    Last time I was in Vegas I went to a smoke free casino. I'm thinking it was off strip. I want to say it was something like Bill's or Bob's or...I don't remember.

    I went to the second - what a night!

    The guys are probably all finished now (depending on when the show started)... can't wait to read all about it!
