I'll write a more detailed review when I get home, but I want to tell you all that the show last night was amazing. I expected it to be great, but I did not expect to be blown away as frequently as I was.

I was struck by how much the live performance enhanced my enjoyment of the new songs. At times it was like watching an athlete, like an ice skater, perform a difficult routine. You hold your breath as they build up to that triple axel and you rejoice when they hit it flawlessly. Watching Glenn perform those new songs made me appreciate how incredibly difficult they are to sing. You can't simply power through it like rock. Pitch and tone and timing are vital and when you make a mistake, people notice. Glenn made very few mistakes. When he built up to a big moment, he delivered and you could see the effort and the sheer joy all over his face and body.

This was my first Glenn show and I now understand why so many of you keep coming back for more. I would too if this wasn't the last East Coast date.
