Oh, believe me, I have been profuse with my thanks and threw in a great big hug as well. lolOriginally Posted by glenneaglesfan
This came about very last minute, but since I was able to purchase an unused comp the night of the show last year I figured I'd be able to do the same this time around. The first night I was sitting in the 5th row, house right in the isle seat. The view was absolutely perfect. Well...I couldn't see Michael Thompson, but everone else was unobstructed. When Glenn walked out it almost killed me not to be sitting next to the others. He looked sooooo fantastic! I was expecting a suit as it was a casino show, but he came out in jeans. The show was great! All the guys were so obviously having fun. They were really into the music. Glenn was so full of energy, dancing around and giving a little kick with his foot when he hit a certain guitar part that I was surprised when he said towards the end that he was going to play a couple more before he left to take care of his headache. I was so excited when Glenn said he was going to play some new stuff for us. I loved the little instrumental piece called I Wish There Was No War. You can hear the guitar actually talking. A week or two ago I was perusing copyrights and came across You Are Not Alone, but there wasn't much info about it. It brought tears to my eyes, especially knowing it was a daddy talking to his daughter. I wish I could remember more of the lyrics. It talks a bit about teenage angst as in ..."sometimes you feel so isolated"...and in with the "you are not alone" chorus is..."I will always be your friend". But it's done so that it's not obviously from daddy to daughter. You could easily "give" this to a friend going thru a tough time. After the concert, I mentioned to Scott how much I enjoyed Glenn doing the number of guitar solos he did and he said that he had also enjoyed it as Glenn usually doesn't do that. The second night I was also in the 5th row but on the other side of the room, in the center of the row. The good part about that is I was right behind the others that night so I could lean forward after ILTWAWD and say "OHMYGOD" to them. lol I found out when Glenn gave his shout out that I had lucked into the seat right beside the good doctor's wife. I don't know whether they were fans or not but the did enjoy the concert. I noticed them moving to the beat quite a bit. Or at least as much as I noticed anything that wasn't on stage. lol Glenn didn't dance around quite as much the second night, which is not surprising with the flare up. His voice was fantastic, of course, and he looked great. (lol another "of course") I'm so glad that I went. I had so much fun hanging out with Dreamer, Timfan and Soda. I don't get to do that very often, except for the couple times a year that Soda and I get together. Oh and I got to walk down to see The Falls. It's the first time I've ever been there. I think it was the second night that Glenn told us his mom remarried when he was three and they took him with them on their honeymoon to Niagara Falls. There's a picture of him in his little raincoat and hat, smiling while scared to death. He gave the circa of that pic as 1953, however. My math doesn't match his.lol Sorry if I'm repeating things Soda has already said. I just had such a fantastic time. My feet are still not touching the ground after friday night. Lol, I didn't even hear him say Dreamer and Soda's names.
