Hello!
It was a fantastic night, Witchy Mummy, myself, my housemate Sara and Stedders (whom some of you may remember) all met up and queued to make sure we had good seats (no allocated seating) and we managed to get second row seats in the centre. We were chatting to each other and as we were doing so we looked around us and noticed the band filing in to some reserved seats about halfway up the theatre, so we turned to look (stare intently) at them.
(far left of the picture, just over the "orange" woman's shoulder you can see Witchy Mummy's yellow jumper, I'm sitting next to her with Stedders next to me, all staring at the guys coming in )
When we turned back round there was a fella standing at the front holding a microphone, on closer inspection, it turned out to be Robert Redford (awful photo, but you get the idea).
He started by introducing Sundance a little and then introduced director of Sundance John Cooper who introduced the film and explained the little Q & A for after the film. We then watched the film on the massive Sky Super Screen (wiki entry The Sky Superscreen at the Cineworld O2, London. It measures 22m by 9.2m with a total screen size of 202mē.)
The sound was amazing, the seats comfortable (we did spend the entire time looking up at the screen as it's so massive, but being second row was fab for later), absolutely loved the film.
After it finished there was a round of applause and John Cooper came back and was chatting for a bit until the guys came back in the theatre and was telling us that first he would ask some questions to get them going and then we could ask any questions and that the guys would answer them, there was a bit of chitchat and joking around and then the guys came back in, led by Joe. They took their seats to applause and then the questions began. The Q & A didn't last for a long time, but both Witchy Mummy and Stedders asked questions, to be honest, I'm so knackered after two very late nights followed by early morning by brain has turned to dust.
Don said how he's surprised at how much footage there actually was and how much of the backstage stuff was filmed by Azoff. He also had his little technology rant (Twitter..."I don't want to know what you had for breakfast.")
I'm sure I will remember more after coffee...and breakfast and I'll get WM to come on too.
Suffice to say, it was bloody brilliant.
(Don's great how do these microphone things work picture )
