Valentine's Day!

I do agree it's pretty much a hyped up thing the florists, card retailers, and jewelers have cashed in on. I really think they make men feel they should do something and are jerks if they don't.

I'm feeling pretty bad right now looking at the flowers my husband sent me. Honestly, they are a waste of money, but they are beautiful. I did get him some candy, but it pales in comparison. What's a guy to do? They are pressured in to it. I guess if you have an agreement between the two of you that you don't participate.........

I guess it hit me back when I was still married. The hubby had a dozen red roses sent to my office for me in Nov. Then again for Valentines Day. Three months later and the same florist, same delivery service. $40 more, and that was back in 1985/1986. So since then, I've hinted to the significant others that flowers are not necessary.

But you in no way should feel bad about your flowers! That little heart melting thing you have going on right now is way worth it! And....maybe the flowers are his way of making sure you remember he's still around while watching Part 1 and Part 2 tomorrow and Saturday!!

I try to look on the bright side and think of Valentine's Day as just another opportunity to express my love to all of the special people in my life. This seems especially appropriate for my fellow Borderers here ...

I agree Dreamer! Some years we celebrate Valentines Day, some we don't! This year we did, with chocolates, flowers and cuddly animals. All 5 of us got involved. Last year we didn't because we were saving to go to New York. I would never expect anyone to overdo it!
