The weather and I are not on good terms this evening. Add in incompetent airlines and it's not a pleasant story. Let's just say I got on a plane in Louisville and got off at Dulles and I'm still soaking wet. We touched down in Charleston, WV due to storms at Dulles and not enough fuel. We had to hike to the terminal and as we hiked back, the skies opened up. Everyone was dripping wet.

Well this year here is the complete antithesis of last year when it rained for much of the summer. Last year was the wettest summer on record. This year however we have had almost continuous wall to wall sunshine since early June, and the good news is that apart from a few threatened thunderstorms next week, there is no real let up forecast.
A hosepipe ban looks like its on the cards from next week so it's as well I got the car washed yesterday!
Of course we are having beautiful sunsets too as an added bonus.

GA, hope they don't introduce a hosepipe ban yet, but hasn't it been fantastic?!
I don't care if the grass is looking a bit brown, I'm just grateful to wake up to a blue sky and not having a drenched cat greeting me in the night!

It has been brilliant! It's slightly cooler this week though. Thing is I'm getting nothing done. Next on the list is Laura's school uniform for next year!

Yes, I'm giving the grass a much needed break from mowing. A big rumble of thunder last night but still dry today. Surprised not to see more heath fires on the moor, but I gather they've been a problem elsewhere.

Good morning everybody! It is a brisk 55 degrees here this morning, and the high for the next couple of days isn't supposed to pass the 70's. Very odd for July, but I'll take it!

It's a tiny bit cooler today than it has been lately - we had some rain yesterday, which freshened the air somewhat. It's sunny again now though and the sky is blue!
