We've discussed that one many times and I don't think anyone really knows for sure! Someone said Don denies ever having a perm, but I will always be of the opinion that he did because it was never really that curly before or after the 'fro. I don't think he had enough curl in his hair to support the awesome one that he had!

Ah yes - the great perm debate! Brooke, I have to totally agree with you about this. The sudden appearance of Don's 'fro' was not a natural phenomenon - I don't know if it was a perm or not, but he did something to get those curls. There is no way that Don's hair just conveniently became naturally curly around the time that 'fros became a man fad in the late 60's/early 70's, only to conveniently start straightening out again in the late 70's. I guess only his hairdresser knows for sure!

How funny that he won't admit to it! He did have quite the fro back then. And I have to wonder, if it wasn't natural, just how much hair product was used in getting it to some of those heights?

One thing is sure - Timothy isn't the only Eagle with beautiful hair

Maybe an Electrical Socket was to blame!

I have always wondered about Don's hair. I have curly hair and know I can blow dry it pretty straight. When was the below shot taken? His hair is definitely curly there. Also, the photos we see with his hair very long and straight is extensions, right?

I posted some of his longer hair that was straighter in his photo thread. Extensions? I don't know, I don't think extensions back in '89 looked that good.

That photo was approximately 1984/5 at Farm Aid before he grew his hair long. I know nothing about hair extensions but I have never heard of a man having them. As far as I know he let it go back to its natural state & then he grew it long.

Lots of rock stars have/had extensions. Seemed like Don went from short hair to long hair quickly but maybe he was just away from the public while it was growing to that long length.
