Opening for Neil Young that early - not too shabby!

The Eagles were already in the UK and had some time free because they'd abandoned the recording of "On the Border". They had the same management as Neil Young, and that management applied a little pressure with the promoter along the lines of "if you want Neil Young, you'll take this other band". As it turned out, the Eagles were received very well compared to Neil Young as this was the infamous "Tonights the Night" tour where Young refused to play his popular material.
