So, do we know (or surmise) if Deacon's name has any music roots? All I can think of is Steely Dan's "Deacon Blues".... whiahi would also fulfill his love of sports/football, with the song's sports allusions...

I have always assumed that Deacon is indeed named for Deacon Blues which is one of Glenn's favourite songs.
