I haven't a clue, but they've had them for years! And we're talking about a town of maybe 200 with only the county sheriff dept. cruising through once in a while!

    Google to the rescue!

It seems that it is legal to own peacocks in most states, since they are not native animals, but exotics. But you have to be something like 10 miles away from a city. It also says they're noisy and aggressive.

When I was living in California, there was a peacock no more than 3 minutes away from me. I would hear that peacock squawking all the time, but it was so cool. I would walk down there (where the bird was living) and saw that it would be out of the fence sometimes. LOL. Chasing it was fun. LOL.

You came along and changed my life Glenn!!

They are noisy. That one let out a heck of a squawk when we were standing there.

I've heard they can be aggressive which I always found funny because the local zoo has always, since I can remember, had several of them on the grounds just running around. They seem pretty nice but I've never tempted them.

Good to know Pm! Thanks for checking. I'd hate to have to tell these people they had been violating the law for 30 years!

PM, that's a lovely pic of the peacock. Someone in the next village to ours keeps them, and if the wind's in the right direction you can hear them!
