I've been to the Fox Theatre as well, Brooke and Molly. During the late 90's, I commuted to St. Louis for my job. I was there so much that I actually had a corporate apartment for a couple of years. It was very cool - I could lay in my bed and have a perfect view of the Gateway Arch. I went to see Sunset Boulevard at the Fox Theatre, and it is very beautiful (the play was terrific too). One of my other memories was my visit to the St. Louis Cathedral. If you are ever in the city, I highly recommend going to see it. It is probably the single-most beautiful building that I have ever been in. I can't even explain the feeling that I had when I was in the building, but it was unlike anything I've ever experienced before. I have never been to the Vatican, but if those buildings are nearly as beautiful, they must have a very powerful effect on people.

Molly, that's too funny that the breweries topped your families sightseeing list when I'm sure you've already seen many!

Dreamer, sounds like you had a very cool apartment in St. Louis!

I have seen the Cathedral from the outside, but have never been in. I'll have to put that on my list as well!

Here is the pic of the doll that I got for Christmas.

She has a china head, feet and hands. My Mother thinks that my great aunt (who collected dolls) gave it to my Grandmother and also made her dress. The dress isn't that old and was probably made around 20 years ago as it closely matches the quilt she is sitting on. My Grandmother made the quilt for me around 18 years ago. Both are laying on a church pew that came from my great aunt's old country church.

I agree, Brooke. That is so sweet. Those are the kinds of gifts that always mean the most to us - the ones you can't put a price tag on. Some of the things that I cherish the most are some small things that belonged to my grandparents.

Beautiful doll, Brooke. I have a friend who collects dolls. Her living room is full of dolls. No space for other things anymore.
