That's a really nice part of small towns. My small town does absolutely NOTHING like this!
I am sitting here watching some home remodeling TV shows. Later is a DUKE basketball game then the season finale of Dr Who.
I am still recovering from an allergic reaction I had on Sunday. Not sure what was worse, the actual reaction or the cure. I am still having trouble walking & lost 10 pounds I can't afford to lose.
Well except for a few gift cards I need to get,
I am done my shopping ..yeah
So I have been sorting and wrapping
Already had a xmas visit with my bff Friday night.
We did the movies and a quick dinner
We had a blast
Next up is the holiday party this week at work ,we do a grinch exchange .
Then my church group party where we do a steal kind of pollyanna.
The fun thIng is the grinch one is kind of a white elephant type
The church one is kinda which is ginna be the best gift that everyone wants to steal
Having the last number here works the best cause everything has been opened so you can take the last gift or stealsomething someone else has .we have fun
So I try to sort and wrap in order
And I am looking forward to my godsons xmas this year .
He and my girl friends little girl just make my heart sing .they are so much fun at this age
My town is the only one in the county that has a parade. It's a tradition. The whole county shows up for one hour on the first Saturday in December at 10 am to watch. My nana's small city has there's at 1:30 pm, so we eat lunch with her, and go watch it. Then, the big city in southwest Georgia has theirs at 6 pm. One of my foster grandmas lives right where the parare starts, so we can just park in her yard and watch it from the sidewalk. Then, my mom and I go looking at Christmas lights. That's become our tradition.
I took some photos. I'll upload them later today.

Garth Brooks is doing the last of his 6 shows tonight in our town. We live a block away from the Arena. It has been fun watching-hearing the crowds come and go.
Last night he did a show at 7 and then another one at 10:30. I took pictures from my 4th story windows of all the people walking and driving and biking between shows.
I heard he did a great job.
I'm at the library, trying to find a few more books to read, lol.

2 weeks before Christmas & I broke my ankle Thursday afternoon. I have almost nothing bought, no tree & won't be making cookies.
This morning, my son to me: I have something in my eye.
Me to my son: no you have pink eye & need to go to urgent care
Son to me: No I have something in my eye
Me to son: I am going to try & get flip flops on & take you to urgent care
Son to me: It's your right ankle I will drive myself
Son to me (on phone) I have pink eye...shut up!
The really bad part is his girlfriend's dad just came home from the hospital after having open heart surgery so he can't go over to help out at all. On top of all of this her uncle passed away & neither of us can go to the viewing or funeral.
I am voting for Christmas in July this year.
