Just got home today from a truly, wonderful vacation...I must say people from the Mid West must be the friendliest people I have ever met...
Our hotel was situated just across the street from the Target Center...all day I could hear people talking about the Eagles...there was a radio station situated at the restaurant next door giving away some goodies...the city was a buzz of activites..
The doors of the center opened at 6:30 and it wasn't long before it was full..I had the "paperless" tickets on my VISA and I must say I would definatetly buy them that way again...no hassle whatsoever....

JD and his band were already playing when we got in...(I read in the paper the next day that this guy "Jim Bolan" is a business partner of Irving)...
We were sitting in the 17th row..not a bad spot...all nice people around us...but halfway through "Train leaves here this morning", 3 "drunk as skunks" couples took their seats right in front of us...One guy missed his seat and fell on the floor and one of the girls fell in my husband's lap...You have NO idea how badly I want to strangle people like that...but what can you do???

SO out comes Glenn and Don..Glenn in a nice blue shirt and I believe Don's was gray...
"Saturday night" was perfect, and it was Don, not Glenn, who interacted more with the audience....
Bernie came out to loud applause (he's from Minnesota), and again, the song was perfect...Bernie really sounded great.
Then came my favorite "Peaceful easy feeling"...Glenn told the story of how he got the tape from Jack in the mail, and said CD insteat of tape and people took to laughing...to which Glenn responded that this wasn't a joke..and that he'd tell us when to laugh....lol
Loved the new intro to Witchy Woman....was happy to hear "Doolin Dalton" live....and SO glad that "Tequila Sunrise" and "Already Gone" are back on the setlist....Of course, these delinquents in front of us all got up when they played "Already Gone", but to my surprise, sat back down.
Poor Don had some voice issues with "Best of my love" and shied away from the high notes, but still got through it...I must admit this was never one of my favorites anyway.
The crowd went wild for "Lying Eyes"...Glenn did NOT do the plaintiff joke...but when he introduced "Take it to the limit" he did mention that Randy's health was improving...good news indeed.. and I thought that Glenn did a particularly excellent job on this song....and Don did an excellent job as well on "One of these nights"....then there was the intermission....where our front neighbours left to get even more drunk...and they stood and staggered for the rest of the show.
Now I am only 5 ft tall so I told my husband that I was gonna go stand at the end of our row, which I did and had a pretty clear view for much of the 2nd part...and I must add that the security people were totally and over the top friendly to me...They made people standing in front of me sit down...One of the security guy actually said "I wish I could let you stand on your chair"..lol....
Joe absolutely steals the show in the 2nd set..."Pretty Maids all in a row" was beautifully done...and Timothy sounded great in "Love will keep us alive" and "I can't tell you why" in which Glenn played the piano ..I had never heard "New kid in town" live, so that was aboslotely "chilling" for me..
Joe had everbody on their feet for all of his songs...he was amazing...Loved hearing "Those shoes" which was perfection..
The 2 encores were spectacular...nobody wanted them to go..though I must say that "Hotel California" was a little off...Don was having voice problems again...and whether the key wasn't quite right, the guitars sounded a little off too...though I'm sure nobody noticed..
It was a first Eagle concert for my husband...you should've seen the smile on his face....and we're so looking forward to seeing them again in November in Montreal..
As I mentioned to Nancy before, Glenn seemed a little sad...I guess I should elaborate and say he looked tired and he didn't speak a whole lot...He did an amazing job with the introductions, of course...and he did do the "Mother" joke about his hometown which was the only joke he did all night.
Ooops..I almost forgot....while we were sitting, waiting for the show to start, a kid with a small flashlight went by and I told my husband..."I'm sure that was Otis, Glenns' son"...sure enough, he comes back down the aisle, stops by me and looks around then chats with this middle aged woman, whom he obviously knew, and goes back behind the stage...then he's helping set up after JD is done, and I can see he's joking around with the rest of the crew...I know he's the boss' son, but they seemed to genuinely like him...they were all smiles....He looks a lot like Deacon, but has his Mother's colors...He seems like a very sweet young man...
I wish I could go to every show they do..."If I had a million dollars"...I would follow them around for sure...lol..

Thanks for sharing all the details about your experience, GH! I'm glad you had such a good time despite a few things being a bit off. I wish I could have been there with you. How charming that you got to see Otis!

Just watch Farewell 1 if you want to hear it - it's been around a while. I for one am glad it's getting phased out!

After watching all those videos (and perhaps saving them too...heh heh) I can honestly say the Doolin Dalton-Desperado Reprise was my favorite part of the show. It was so well done, and the harmonies and vocal strength continue to blow my mind. God I wish I could see them again!!!
