TM Platinum Section 1 Row 6 $425 right now. I'd be all over it if I weren't already locked into VIP seats.

Welcome from me too, Keith. I'd love to go to this show, but I'm thinking I'll have to pass on it.

Thanks for the welcomes! Sorry I haven't introduced myself as a new member. I'm a long time fan, but have never been much for concerts. Up until October, my last concert was U2 in '92. That all changed with this tour. We were on the floor row 28 in Nashville, on the lower level in Greensboro, and now, after a Ticketmaster shopping quest, we will be on the floor row 11 in Raleigh. I considered it a very good thing to be as far forward as I could be without moving into the $650 zone. I have to admit, when ROW SIX came up for $425 in TM Platinum, it did bum me a little. Not because it was $25 less, but because it's 5 rows closer. I have been wondering about the view and overall experience once you get that close to the stage. Is there any comparison to a movie theater, where being too close can actually take away from the overall view? Thanks for this site and your input.

Hi Keith...I have to tell you...I have always sat in the 'cheap seats' for the Eagles shows I've been to...but splurged this last month and did the VIP seats at MSG...third row...let me tell you..it is a whole different experience!!!...the closer the better my man!!!...I hope to go to Raleigh too but don't have a ticket yet...I have a friend there I can stay with...

    Welcome to the Border, Keith!

And yes, the closer the better has been my experience! But it spoils you too!

Welcome, Keith! Glad to have you on board!

If you poke around here at all, you'll find that I generally always seat in the first few rows. I got spoiled way back in the 80's when my ex had an 'in' at a ticket outlet and always got front seats for all the concerts. For the more recent concerts, mostly the Eagles, I will say that front row in Atlanta/Alpharetta, the front row was very close and the stage was high. My neck hurt a bit. Vegas is the same way. At all the venues, you look at the guys one at a time unless they are standing very close to each other. At Indy I was all the way back in row 8 (!) and it was nice to be able to see all of them with one look. Can also see more of the background guys from further back, and the video on the back of the stage is easier to watch.

Being close enough to really watch Joe's fingers on guitar make it all worth it!

For me, I definitely prefer being in the first five rows although I can't afford it for every show that I go to. Like VA, I love it when you can watch them play and sing so up close, including being able to see the guys expressions, read their lips, and, yes, even see the spit spew from Glenn's mouth. To me, it's better than sitting up close in a cinema, because you aren't looking at larger-than-life objects (except the backdrop screens). I have had a couple of occasions when I had to look up because the stage was so high, but, in my experiences, that is the exception rather than the rule.

And, BTW, welcome from me as well, Keith. Hope you enjoy it here on The Border.
