Wow, what a fun weekend with the boys being back in NYC. First of all, it was fun to meet some of the Borderers on Saturday after the show! It’s always great to put faces to names and you ladies know how to enjoy yourselves and you certainly do love the guys. Always a good thing!
I ended up going to the show again last night. I had some friends staying with me and we wanted to see if we could catch a drop and get in. What a tough ticket it was. There was literally nothing at the box office when we got there, but the guy working the window was incredibly sweet and when some tickets opened up, he waved us over, as he knew we were waiting patiently, and in we went!
What a fantastic show. As many have said, they just keep getting better and better as the tour progresses. That whole first hour of the show is like a musical meditation to me, with some fun rock songs thrown in. It’s an hour and 10 minutes of sheer Eagles bliss. The Doolin’ Dalton/Desperado Reprise remains a highlight in so many ways. The artistry and beauty of it is astounding. By the time they sang TITTL, I was a little teary. It could have been the mood I was in, but it is just so gorgeous and Glenn sang it so lovingly. I could seriously see the first half of the show over and over and get something different out of it every time.
The second half of course was just a rockin’ good time. I think that ‘s what I enjoy so much about the show as a whole. The first half is this active listening experience where you can immerse yourself in the beauty and harmonies of the songs, and the second half is just a fun time. Get up and sing along and enjoy
I love the version of Heartache Tonight that they are doing on this tour. SO much fun and gets the audience up for the rest of the show. NKIT is so lovely and after they sang that, my friend who had not seen them in years said she was just knocked out by how good Glenn still sounds. I certainly agree!
I was again just so impressed about how much they put of themselves into each show. It really irritates me when people think they are out there as some sort of huge money grab. What I witnessed on that stage this weekend was a bunch of incredibly accomplished musicians who are still at the top of their game and seem to genuinely enjoy what they are doing and pour themselves into it. It is so cool to be able to get to see them this far into their career and have them be so hard working. I loved every minute of it.
Anyway, so glad so many Borderers were able to attend the MSG shows. I’ve really enjoyed reading all the reviews and thanks for all the pictures and videos! It will keep me happy until I get to see them again in March. Something out on the horizon to look forward to.
