RIP Glenn Frey and Randy Meisner
"So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains and we never even know we have the key..."
Pssst......ya'll also do know that, before flying with the Eagles, Meisner was bass player for Rick Nelson, right? (Yes, that Rick Nelson.....Ozzie & Harriet's second child who became a teen idol in the 50s & wrote that beautiful song "Garden Party" in 1971 after thinking that he was being booed off the stage at Madison Square Garden during a "Rock & Roll Revival" type of show (the fact was that the cops were trying to arrest some drunk & disorderly patrons and the crowd actually were booing the cops.....not Nelson).
Delilah!!!! That chronology says the Bottom Line show was simulcast on radio!! There must be a recording. Has to be!! And did you notice who was there several nights later: Tracy Nelson?! Surely not Rick's daughter.
Very interesting story about Desmond Child too. I remember him when he was "and Rouge" - he had long, flowing hair like Peter Frampton.
D., you've seen the newspaper photo of Randy and Therese Heston from the Bottom Line show? They're laughing. The newspaper caption says something like, "The calm before the storm" and then goes on to summarize briefly how the show took a negative turn.
Delilah - Thanks for the pictures, Randy looks great. I was having problems accessing the site. Why did Randy walk off stage ? Sure doesn't sound like something he would do normally.
Delilah's and Austin's pictures are both 'new' to me. Love 'em. I like that 'scruffy' look in the photo Austin posted.
I've never heard about the 'walking off the stage' incident before either.

The audience apparently thought Randy and his band weren't performing very well. They booed and shouted things and sweet Randy got upset. He left the stage and went someplace private to collect himself. Then he went back on stage and resumed the show, from what I understand.
I’m not too optimistic about the recording still being around, although it would be great to hear (at least I think so ). When I saw Tracy Nelson’s name, I wondered the same thing, but I think she would have been a young teen at the time; when was Square Pegs on TV? That newspaper clipping you’re referring to sounds familiar.
Anyway, this article provides some detail on what happened that night. It seems there were some issues with the sound system as well as Randy having a rough night.

Poor Randy. He was a trooper though. Thank you for that, Delilah.
Love this picture, esp. with the Eagles medallion peeking through.
