    Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman has died of an apparent drug overdose...omg this is so sad...another talented man dead because of drugs...

    Obviously I need to broaden my horizons. I'm sorry that I have no idea who this person is! It's all over my Facebook feed and MSN, and I've never even heard of the movies I see he was in. Everyone seems to agree that he was very talented, and it's a shame he had to come to an end like this.

    ETA: Just read a more in-depth article. I have heard of Charlie Wilson's war, though I've only read the book and not seen the movie.

    A really sad tragedy. Very talented man. I saw a report that mentioned it was drug related.

    He was Lester Bangs in Almost Famous.

    That was the role that really made me sit up and take notice of him and I've been a fan ever since. However, sometimes it's difficult to remember what all he has been in because he was so great at immersing himself in his roles.

    He will truly be missed.
