Also...why is second row better in some ways than first row? (you professional concert-goers know all the inside tips - I'm always glad for more info!)

In some places, the stage is higher and in the front row you're looking up at an awkward angle. Not everywhere, of course. The rest of it, I don't know. Except for Seattle last September, my best concert experiences have been when in the second or third rows, and I'm not sure why that is. I will say that the extra three to four feet is seldom worth the extra $300.

This is just my personal opinion and I'm sure there are plenty of folks who would disagree, but when I'm on first row sometimes I feel kind of self-conscious. Plus, as VA mentioned, some venues have high stages where you can get a crick in your neck if you're first row. That being said, I'd never turn it down!!!

ETA: I remember one of my best Eagles concert experiences was 2nd row at Memphis.

I know, these are the best seats I've ever had for an Eagles concert - I became a believer after reading all the posts here about concert experiences, and I finally concluded that it's worth it to splurge for the best seats if at all possible (I'm going to have to juggle expenses to make this work, but it'll be worth it!)

(I'm not telling anyone in my everyday world how much my seats cost, though - they wouldn't be able to handle it! )

That was such a fun night in Memphis! I got some second hand Glenntact because Dreamer and Soda were sitting right behind me!
