Going to see REO Speedwagon tomorrow night in St. Louis!
Haven't seen them live since in the 70's and I don't remember a thing about that show!

Have fun at the show,Brooke--as much fun as you had in the 70's!!
So, I saw REO Speedwagon Friday night at the Peabody Opera House in St. Louis and they were awesome! I love all their hits and they really put on a good show! There were no fancy videos or stage set up and just the 5 members of the band, but it was great! They played for 2 hours without a break and pretty much rocked St. Louis! It's reported that this band has toured every year since they were formed in the late 60's. It's hard to pick a favorite song, but Ridin' the Storm Out, Like You Do, Can't Fight This Feeling, and Keep On Loving You were highlights for me. Lead singer, Kevin Cronin mentioned the Paris massacre before they did Golden Country. His energy is contagious! He also did a tribute to former guitarist Gary Ritchrath who passed away a couple months ago which was very touching.
I found it interesting that there were no rules about cameras, videos, or cell phones and everyone stood most of the show. No directions about whether to sit or stand. The lady in front of me must have videoed the whole show. And most people were taking pictures off and on the whole evening. Security was right in front of me and down front and they never blinked an eye! Of course, my pictures are crap and I was in the second row behind the pit! I hope to find some decent ones online. Surely there will be some!
I think it's cool that they continue on with only their 5 band members. No extra anything! I wish our guys would do that!
I know they are not the caliber of the Eagles, but if you get a chance to see them, go, they are worth every penny!
ETA: Could anyone tell me how to search for photos of this particular show? Or any for that matter?

Thanks, Fp!
I finally found some at the radio station that promoted the show:

Now, is it ok to actually post these photos or link only to the page? And can I save these for myself and post elsewhere as long as I give credit where credit is due?

I've seen REO twice front row and I'd easily go again if they came to Springfield or Peoria. Maybe even Bloomington.
Seems like a lot of shows in my area are being scheduled in either Moline or Effingham (IL) and that's too far of drive so obviously Chicago/St. Louis is out of the question. But they are good about playing "close to home".
I am looking forward to seeing Fleetwood Mac tomorrow night.
