    Default Best album of 2015?

Do you have a favorite album released this year?

I'm loving "If I Should Go Before You" by City and Colour, the nom de plume so to speak of a guy named Dallas Green. He has a gorgeous voice and writes heartfelt songs.

I heard the song "Lover Come Back" a couple months ago and was immediately impressed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Yb46QUpvuI

I'd think that my vote would have to go to Cass County. Iron Maiden's The Book of Souls is a close second.

I haven't heard the Maiden album yet - I tend to only listen to them when I'm VERY angry. Metal is consoling somehow when one is in turmoil.

Cass County would definitely be in my Top 5.

I'm not as big of a metalhead as some, but I listen to it on a daily basis, and I like most of the subgenres(Thrash, doom, prog, death etc) Something like Pantera is what I listen to when I'm angry.

    Tracker by Mark Knopfler.

I was disappointed in Cass County & will say more about that when we do a Survivor for it.

Hmmm. That's a tough one. I will list my top 5, as my favorite can change from week to week -

    Ghost - Meliora
    Chris Stapleton - Traveller
    Adele - 25
    Don Henley - Cass County
    Slayer - Repentless

I have to be honest and admit that I haven't listened to enough new releases this year to be able to come up with any decent attempt at a list. This is partly because I enjoy exploring the 'classics' more - I think some people have a really good instinct for spotting which new artists will have long and successful careers as well as at spotting flashes in the pan, a knack I don't feel I possess.

However, I have definitely been impressed by Cass County and have also enjoyed what I have heard from David Gilmour's Rattle That Lock, although I have not given that a full listen. Beyond that, I'd struggle. I have a basic idea of what's going on in the music world by reading websites, but most of it doesn't interest me. I have somehow managed to not actually hear Adele's lead single, let alone her new album, but her type of music does not really appeal to me.

Jonny, I don't listen to enough new music either. Heck, I didn't even know Gilmour had a new solo album; must check that out.

Cass County, of course. Truthfully, I haven't listened to any other new music. Been a busy year.
