it was a hotel in the small town next to AC. 5 minutes away. she was there with her date and everything went down after midnight... scared me for sure
Try Kayak. They seem to have decent prices for hotels.

if the shows are fairly early and they get out early enough you should be ok... a big act like the eagles there is a crapload of security and cops anyway lol i just wish i could be there too
I wouldn't worry about it. You're not venturing into the more urban areas of the city. You'll be on the boardwalk. People like to be overly dramatic about safety in certain areas. If you stay at a casino you can park in their garage and walk right in. Don't let naysayers ruin your good time.
Glad you're going to this one, Karen. I thought about it, but then decided against it. I think you should be fine as long as you stay in heavily-populated and well-lit areas along the strip. As WW said, I would think they are pretty well secured, especially after a big event. Hope you have a great time!

Atlantic City hasn't had the best of years with 3 casinos recently closing. The Eagles previous concert was at the brand new Revel Casino which is now closed (the new owner plans to turn AC into a destination as a health resort, hope it happens). The July concert is at the Old Boardwalk Hall. Lack of air conditioning may be more of a concern. It is summertime and I expect there will be alot of people and activities happening.
I do not spend alot of time in AC but have stayed at the Borgata which was very very nice and had great restaurants. The Borgata is on the bayside. We found it easier to check in and leave the car at the Borgata, take a cab to a concert at Boardwalk Hall (it was Jimmy Bufett and we went partly because TBS was appearing with the band). After the concert we went to Ceasar's to hail a cab back to the Borgata. It is even better if you have friends that are gamblers and get discounted rooms!
Harrah's and Golden Nugget are also on the bayside and away from the crowds. Although Harrah's pool becomes a club at night with celebrity hosts like Paris Hilton that can draw a noisy very young crowd. I know alot of big names appear at Cesars and it always seems busy. I heard Tropicana recently renovated their rooms. There is also a Sheraton near the convention center.
The surroundings will not even cross your mind once the magic of the music starts ! This is the 1st concert where I purchased VIP tickets. I would have preferred MSG but it is still the Eagles. Right now our plans are to drive 20 miles north after the concert to our family's summer home on LBI (we just finished the rebuild after Hurricane Sandy). If we decide to stay in AC after the concert I will glady share the details and help you out.
I hope this info helps. See you at the concert!!
Atlantic City isn't the greatest place but the boardwalk is fine. There are police all over. Been there numerous times but never for a concert.
We are planning to make a weekend of it but since it is the weekend in July all of the major casinos are over $300 a night so I think we are staying in Egg Harbour or Galloway & just driving in and parking in a casino parking garage. There aren't discounted rooms on the boardwalk in July on a weekend.
It is a shame about the Revel. We were down there a few weeks after it opened up.
edited to add: my son was there 2-3 weeks ago. He walked around by himself all day. He actually took a picture of a poster of the guys. They were actually giving tours of the hall that day. I told him to go take the tour & take pictures but he decided to go get his hair cut instead. Awww youth!
Its the middle of july busy time for ac with the beaches
Park in a casino lot you'll be fine
We always stayed at golden nugget
Nice and quiet by the bay
