Thank you, UtW! I wonder why it's so very hard to find.

[musing aloud] It was such a big event, I wonder if there is any film or video. Aside from that wonderful commercial on British tv (and now on YouTube).

I don't suppose anyone here attended the Eagles' September 1975 show at Balboa Stadium in San Diego? I was looking at some nice photos from the event and couldn't help but notice someone in a huge orange wig playing guitar onstage with the band.

I've wondered who was standing behind Glenn in this photo (from the same concert at Balboa Stadium). At first I thought maybe it was Felder but his hair wasn't that wild. Could it be Joe dressed up for laughs? That doesn't look like his hand though (or his arm in the Flickr pic). Not sure about the guitar either.

I wish they filmed the Eagles' set too

OT: Glenn is wearing a t-shirt referring to the actor Alex Karras, who used to play for the Detroit Lions apparently

In a couple of those flickr photos of the Eagles, I noticed a cameraman onstage in the background. It looks like he was filming them.

OK, but the fellow in the orange wig is playing the guitar - with no pick - and is wearing like a red jumpsuit. He's hard to miss! Maybe Ronald McDonald was moonlighting as a rock musician for a spell in the 70s. Couldn't blame him.

The guy with the red wig is actually Alex Karras. I believe Glenn's shirt was for the fictional Alex Karras Blues Band. Part of this concert was broadcast live on a short-lived TV show in the US called Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell. Karras was part of the Monday Night Football booth with Cosell back then. They showed Linda Ronstadt doing a song then came back later for the Eagles.

I was at the show (I'm old). Toots & The Maytals, a reggae band, opened, followed by Jackson Browne, then Linda, then the Eagles.

I recall few particulars about the show (it was the 70s) but the sunburn I got was historic!

That is so cool! Thank you for sharing, Bob.

How exciting about the tv show. There is a clip of Linda R. on YouTube from this concert, so the Eagles performance has got to be out there somewhere too. Pray hard everybody, c'mon! We wanna see the Eagles at Balboa Stadium
