The "wind" issues Don mentions when introducing Seven Bridges Road may also partly explain the new HOTE version of Witchy Woman.
They did 7BR in LA at the beginning of 2014 and there were no breathing issues, nor were there any in 2012 or 2013. I'm not sure why Don said this, I suppose he had his reasons, and I won't sit here and say he's wrong. However, the original version of Witchy Woman doesn't fit into the band-hanging-out-at-Bud's vibe, and they need the long intro to get Joe onto the stage. So while holding one's breath may have played into it, I seriously doubt it's the reason they changed it up. As with 7BR, they performed it just fine in 2012 and 2013, a mere 3.5 months before the HOTE opener in July 2013.

Well - I'm sitting in the hotel lobby in Austin waiting for Soda and HB to arrive. I sure wish I could have made the show, but it is a very bad time at work to take off. I'm going to be missing 3 days this coming week, and that's about all the time I felt comfortable asking for right now.

Anyway, it sounds like I missed quite a good show, but I'm thrilled Don was in such good form. I don't know, but I suspect the comment about 7BR was just a joke. We'll have to get Soda's and HB's take on it.

Beyond happy that he did 7BR and Talking To The Moon! Love both those songs. Sounds like Don was in great form, let's hope he brings that to "the other band" for an amazing next leg of the tour! Glad you had fun, Soda and HB!

Thanks for the review guys, great reading! I suppose the any comments Don makes (like the SBR one) aren't helped by his dry humour: half of the time you don't know whether he's dead serious or trying to make you laugh!

    Sounds like a great show.

As far as SBR, I don't know. I almost lean to it being somewhat true. It is a song that is high (Don's part) and requires a lot of air to outstretch those words.

As far as WW, I prefer the original but the other version is ok. Much better than the remade HT.

HB how did you stay calm when you were so close to Don and THOSE blue eyes????? I would have been a puddle of jelly and don't know if I could have restrained myself from reaching out and grabbing him!!!
