Default "Eagles" answer to clue on Jeopardy

I'm at my uncle's house and we're watching Jeopardy. One of the Jeopardy round categories in "Ex members of the Band". I was wondering if maybe, possibly...sure enough the $1,000 clue was (my paraphrasing ):
In 2001, Don Felder was fired from this band. He sued and in 2007, they settled out of court.

I should've paid more attention to the clue to get the wording right, but all I saw was "Don Felder" and my brain went to mush. The Eagles on Jeopardy?

That was the $1000 clue? Super-easy!

Rather unfortunate way to make Jeopardy, though!

Yup, $1,000 clue. Where's my money for getting it right?
I agree, not the best way to be mentioned, but still cool!

I told my mom about this, this morning. I was thinking that she might get a kick out of it because she is a casual fan of the Eagles. She just looked at me funny and she "Well, what's the big deal?".

One of my favorite bands was mentioned on national tv! That's the big deal!

Yeah - it's kinda cool anytime you hear the band mentioned on TV. I doubt that the name Don Felder is that recognizable among the general public, so the clue may not been quite as easy for some as it is for us hardcores.

I agree. I think that "The Long Run" part would've been more of a giveaway for most people.

And if that weren't enough, the term "aerie" refers to an bird's nest.

I didn't know that! I couldn't figure out what they meant by that.
