Default Joe Walsh: Wed 16 & 18 Sept 2015 - Packard Music Hall, Warren Ohio

Well I was embarrassingly way off the mark.

Despite there being no support act, Joe played for about 90 minutes, opening with Walk Away. Pretty Maids All In A Row with a sax solo sounds gruesome. Shadows is a pretty good call. The Worry Song is just about as obscure as the Walsh catalogue gets. I'm kinda glad that he's checking out his, not-so-hot 80s albums.

The "electronic dance music break" that preceeded Funk #49 sounds interesting

Joe Vitale said the set list will be fluid, so I'm sure there are more surprises to come as Joe's tour progresses.

The electric funk dance break was in the MIDDLE of Funk 49 and it was AWESOME!! I only saw video, I was NOT there.

I'd gladly trade away Shadows & The Worry Song for more songs off of Barnstorm.

He did Mother Says the 1st night too. So he went from 22 songs down to 14? I think Turn to Stone is sorely missed! I want some Joe V. flute action!

Jim Fox from James Gang came out for one song last night but I don't know which one. Funk 49 maybe?

Yeah - I'm wondering if this is the complete set list. And I agree with MV about Turn to Stone - that's one of my very favorites. I also miss Help Me Thru the Night, Ordinary Average Guy, and All Night Long. I would also love for him to do One Day At a Time.

Anyway, we need threads for all of Joe's shows in his concert forum. I'll create them and move these posts when I get a chance.

Here's the entire second show, courtesy of clubdoc'sYouTube channel.

    The 22 song, set list was the set list I was hoping for. The actual set list for the show that opened the tour was;

    Wed 16 Sept 2015
    Warren Ohio

    1 Walk Away
    2 Analog Man
    3 Over And Over
    4 Life Of Illusion
    5 In The City
6 Pretty Maids All In A Row
    7 The Worry Song
    8 Mother Says
    9 Shadows
    10 The Bomber
11 One Day At A Time
    12 Funk #49
    13 Life's Been Good
    14 Rocky Mountain Way
    encore
15 Life In The Fast Lane

Shadows had an extended instrumental improvisation that would usually form a large chunk of Turn To Stone.

Extra - I've just corrected the omission of Mother Says. . My sources are iffy

I just came here to post Club Doc's show. Great that you caught that!

Perhaps I shouldn't post 1st thing in the morning. Of course the 22 songs were your dream list! We always hope for a lot.

Turn to Stone is really missed. I would have traded ILBTs in a heartbeat for it.

Wow. Very disappointing setlist - no TTS, no HMTTN, and yet ILBTs hangs out for another round. And of all of his catalog, he picks The Worry Song as the featured obscurity?

Oh well. I'm sure I'll still enjoy the show, but I was hoping for a lot more from his setlist since he had hyped it as being really special. This... isn't. Not to me, anyway. But again, I'm sure it'll be a great show.

You wont get much complaining about a Walsh show from Ohio. Here's a great Cleveland review by Matt Wardlaw.

    http://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-...en-with-a-bang.

I was disappointed with Joe's show too. It was, same as it ever was. Nice to hear the obscure tracks but I was really hoping that he'd spend 20 minutes or so getting the audience to shut up and listen. by starting low key like the Eagles do.

I didn't really want to bring attention to I.L.B.T.'s but, if the track itself wasn't bad enough, the accompanying video was downright disturbing. No, shock! horror! nipples on view but lots of lecherous 70's porn, groping.

That is an awesome review. I'm not jazzed about the set list either, but Joe is a terrific entertainer so I'm sure the shows will be a blast. If any of these songs fall flat, I'm betting that he will adjust the set list accordingly.
