Dreamer and I have put together a contest involving the identification of quotes from the History of the Eagles DVD. There will be prizes involved. Read on for more information, as outlined by Dreamer:
Andrew Vaughan, the author of The Eagles FAQs, has donated 4 copies of his book to our site for us to use as giveaways. In addition, we have numerous other items such as extra copies of CDs, Eagles tee shirts, and VIP memorabilia that we want to give away. Therefore, we are going to run a contest starting tomorrow so that we can share these items with our members. Any member who participates in a minimum of 1/3 of the contest rounds will be eligible for a prize.
Here’s how it will work. The contest will be called HotE DVD – Who Said This?
We will post a quote from the documentary at random times twice a day. The object is to guess who said the quote in the documentary.
Anyone who wants to participate can answer even if the question has already been answered, but the member who answers correctly first will be awarded the most points, and each subsequent member’s answer will be valued one point less in the order that the answers are posted. The round ends at the time that the next quote is posted.
Here is an example of how the points will be tallied:
Round 1 – 15 correct answers
The 1st member to answer correctly gets 15 points; the 2nd member with the correct answer gets 14 points, the 3rd member with the correct answer gets 13 points, and so on until the 15th member gets 1 point.
Round 2 – 17 correct answers
The 1st member to answer correctly gets 17 points; the 2nd member with the correct answer gets 16 points, the 3rd member with the correct answer gets 15 points, and so on until the 17th member gets 1 point.
Again, there will be 2 rounds a day for 15 days. We will post a recap the scores every 5 days so that members know where they stand.
The contest will conclude when the clock strikes 12:00 a.m. at the end of 15th day.
At that time, the 4 members with the most points will win The Eagles FAQs book. The remaining members will win one of the other prizes that we have to offer. The only catch is that you have to be willing to provide the board administrator with a mailing address so that we can get your prize to you. Of course, this address will remain confidential.
