Voting for HOW LONG

I agree that Long Road Out of Eden is a very good song and I really do love it. I don't know why - I can't put my finger on it, but to me, it lacks something necessary to take it to the level of an epic song. It may be that the melody doesn't grab everyone like a great song should.

As I have said in previous games, I think How Long is the quintessential Eagles song. True, it wasn’t written by them, but J.D. Souther is about as close as you can get to being an Eagle without really being one. The song has great lyrics and music – about as Eagles as you can get. I love the shared vocals between Glenn and Don and the harmonies are just phenomenal. The song deservedly won a Grammy for its vocals and harmonies. Also, outside of the hardcore fanbase, the comments are very often along the lines of, “It sounds just like them”. I can’t think of a bigger compliment than that. So ...

I cast my vote for Long Road Out of Eden.

Theres something about How Long that just brings a big smile to my face. Its joy all the way through and I think the way during the Long Road tour they opened with it just gave it an extra energy and cemented it as a favourite. Its also the only song that they released as a single from that album. So I definitely dont want to see it voted off. As far as the two remaining songs, I think that WITW is lyrically stronger so I will vote off

Of the 3 songs left, this is the one I like least - I find it too long, and the Middle Eastern music in the middle does nothing for me but other than that, it's ok.

"How Long" is my absolute favorite, too! I like the remaining three so much, it is hard to vote. I guess I will vote for "Long Road out of Eden" though I think it has strong lyrics.

I mean, The line "Like a bluebird with it's heart removed" just doesn't do it for me.
The song has a catchy hook, but the words don't mean much to me.

How Long is my favorite on the album, so I vote for Long Road Out of Eden. LROOE is my 3rd favorite, but I want to try and save How Long.

I have to agree with Tk, here. That line has never made much sense to me either.

Anyways, I do love the song regardless. My top four songs made it to to the end here!

So without further ado, I vote for How Long. It's fun and cute, and definitely Eagley, but I think the remaining two songs are epic and deserve to be the final two. Their lyrics and guitars blow me away.
