Well I know that Michael provides the main instrumentation with the accordion. Tim will be playing bass, of course. Honestly, I am so distracted by the beauty of Glenn's voice during this song I don't really notice the music. The almost acappella arrangement is one of the things I love about it. The first time I heard this was live in MI and the heartbreaking beauty of it at first had my jaw agape and then tears raining down my face. I had to get a tissue from Soda when he was done singing because tears were dripping off my chin. I am so happy to have this one. Hell, I'd have bought the cd even if the other 19 songs sucked just to get this one. lol
It is not a given that Tim plays bass on this song, given that Glenn has a 'bass' credit. However, because he sang it without an instrument when he did it live, it may be a fair assumption that is is Tim here.
I assume this is one of Don's 'superfluous' songs. If it is he has had since 1995 to object to it. Felder mentions it in his book, and predictably didn't like it. Given that Don sang For My Wedding by the same writer, I would have thought he approved of it, but there you are.
